Poems
詩 画 舫

This is an incomplete series of books of illustrated Chinese (mostly Tang) poetry. It is not clear whether they were published in China or Japan, as there is no indication of publisher. Nor is there any date, but they are probably from the end of the 19th century. These books seem to have been published in different sizes (e.g. 15x9) and with slightly different choices of poems and drawings.

The missing volumes 1 and 4 are entitled 山水 (landscape) and 草虫 (grass insect).

For the time being, only volumes 2 and 3 are presented in their entirety, because scanning these small books (8x12.5cm) may damage them.

Volume 2 : characters
物人
Volume 3 : Flowers, birds

Volume 5 : bamboo, plum
orchid, chrysantemum
竹 梅
菊 蘭
Volume 6 : fans
譜扇

The complete series of 6 books in a slightly different edition ar shown here by the International Institute for Digital Humanities (Tokyo).

These books are a re-edition of a series of 8 books edited by Huang Fengchi (黃鳳池) in the 17th century, with new woodblocks, new prefaces, and changes in the choice and order of the drawings and poems. The round fans of volume 6 are also new. The original books are available at Princeton University Digital Library. They are also referenced here by the National Central Library of Taiwan.
